The Idongesit Nkanga Educational Foundation (INEF) was established in 2021 as a charitable organization whose objectives are to improve educational and vocational outcomes for members of our immediate communities through advocacy and investment of resources. Our vision is to give as many people in our rural communities a level playing field to excel.
At its inception, the Idongesit Nkanga Educational Foundation (INEF) worked closely with secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State to provide essential materials and remedial support for students preparing for critical exams such as the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the National Examinations Council Examinations (NECO). This initiative aimed to bridge educational gaps and empower students to achieve better academic outcomes.
As we grow, the foundation has broadened its mission to make a greater impact. INEF now provides scholarships to deserving students, offering either partial or full sponsorship for up to four years of higher education. The selection process is guided by internal criteria designed to identify students who demonstrate potential but face financial or educational barriers.
While we continue to collaborate with schools, teachers, and administrators, INEF remains deeply committed to identifying individuals in the community who align with our mission. Together, we strive to provide opportunities that transform lives and contribute to a brighter future for all.
The INEF board consists of people of diverse professions who meet quarterly to consider the needs of our communities. Consider joining our Foundation Board to see how we can work together to build better futures, one community at a time.
Applications are currently being accepted for board members.

It doesn’t matter what you’re up to, you can raise money and awareness for the Idongesit Nkanga Educational Foundation in numerous ways.
The impact we have on our community is strengthened by our dedicated volunteers who donate their time and talents to make a difference. No matter how you choose to volunteer—either as an individual or a group—your time is greatly appreciated and essential to helping us carry out our mission of strengthening our communities.
We offer a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule. Volunteers can help change students’ lives by serving as a mentor, helping us sort and repack donated school supplies, reviewing senior scholarship applications, lending a hand at one of our events, assisting with administrative office activities and so much more. As an approved community service organization, volunteers can include their time spent at the foundation on their resume/CV, therefore increasing their chances of landing gainful employment.
