I was deeply saddened to learn of His Excellency Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga’s demise. The world has lost a powerful force for peace, development and unity.
I was fortunate to have met you during the electioneering campaign season for His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. It was my first time to meet with you. I simply introduced myself and you reacted as if you have known me for years. I felt welcomed and encouraged. I recall also, when supports groups had difficulties during the campaign season, I came to your office, then at the Divine Mandate Campaign Secretariat, without any notification and I was asked if I was on an appointment, I echoed NO. I was told I can’t meet with you. I simply sent you a text to intimate you that I was in your office. You immediately called for me. We had a twenty-minute discussion during which you discovered how passionate I was with the choice of Governor Udom Emmanuel as the party’s flag bearer. You encouraged me and promised to resolve the challenges supporters groups were facing, which you did within 72 hours.
In your parting words “Joel, Udom Emmanuel is the best option, ayah afon”. I left your office that day, motivated to campaign more for His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and the PDP family.
I won’t forget in a hurry your contributions towards nation building. You were so passionate about the development of our state as evident in your timely legacy project “The Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat”.
Your passing away is a loss for the people of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria, in particular at a time we are reviving and reorganizing the aviation industry where your expertise is greatly needed.
May God comfort your family, always.
